Relay for Life coming in June!

To be held at Central Bucks High School on June 26-27 . . .

Pleasantville Church is fielding a team for the 24-hour Doylestown Relay for Life. The Relay used to be held in Doylestown before moving to New Hope. Well, Doylestown has it again and Pleasantville will be a part of it! The money raised from this event benefits the programs of the American Cancer Society. The ACS funds cancer research, patient support programs, and cancer patient advocacy.

Please consider supporting the Relay for Life Pleasantville team in any or all of the following ways:

1. Register to join the team at www.relayforlife.org/padoylestown or pick up a registration form from the team captain, Lisa Baxter.

2. If you are a survivor, please sign-up for the Survivor Lap – the Relay For Life celebrates cancer survivors in a big way, and this is an unbelievably uplifting experience!

3. Purchase Luminaria which will be lit at dusk in memory or in honor of a loved one who has battled cancer.

4. Support the Pleasantville Team by donating generously to our fundraising efforts

Save the date for Vacation Bible School!

Mark your calendars! Vacation Bible School will be held August 2-6, from 9 a.m. to noon. The suggested registration fee will be $20 per child and registration for 4-year-olds through sixth grade will start in mid-April.

If you are interested in volunteering this year as a station leader, crew leader, or general helper, please contact Diane in the church office ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

End-of--Life Seminar to be held at Pleasantville

One of the least talked about subjects of household discussion is the future loss of a loved one or the loss of one’s own life.

In an effort to assist members of our own congregation and members of other congregations in the area of preparing for these subjects, the Cancer Support Group (now called Caring and Sharing Support - CASS) will sponsor an End-of-Life Seminar on Sunday, April 25 in Lentz Fellowship Hall.

The seminar will begin with lunch at noon followed by information presented by members of the clergy, the legal profession, and the funeral industry. Adequate time will be allowed for questions following each presentation.

The cost of the seminar will be $10 per person which includes lunch. Childcare will be provided.

For additional information see Pastor Paul (215-822-2394, ext. 102) or Diane Scheller at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We look forward to having you join us for this meaningful seminar.

This year’s breakfast will be on Sunday, April 11 between and after worship services. We will serve delicious pancakes and sausage. The breakfast is all-you-can-eat.  The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. All proceeds will support AfterGlow’s upcoming mission trip. No sign up is necessary....just come if you are able!

One Great Hour of Sharing

OGHS is a special offering that channels resources to the self-empowerment of communities (60%), emergency relief and refugee advocacy and resettlement of refugees in both the USA and in over 90 countries. Nine denominations and Church World Service participate. The expression of compassion by our Church can only be really appreciated by the recipients who now have fresh water for the first time, a refugee whose child can now attend school, or a disaster victim who has a warm blanket and shelter. You may contribute by using the special OGHS envelope in your offering box or pew rack.  You may also mail your donation to the church.
